After Dutee, Srabani Qualified For Rio Olympics


BHUBANESWAR: After Dutee Chand, another ace sprinter Srabani Nanda from Odisha has qualified for Rio Olympics 2016.

Srabani covered 200-meter event in 23.07 second at Kazakhstan to be eligible for the Rio Olympics.

On Saturday, Dutee qualified for Olympics in 100 metres event by achieving the target in 11.30 seconds at Kazakhstan.

After the achievement, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated her.

“Congratulate Srabani Nanda on qualifying for . A glorious moment for Odisha sports. Wish her all success,” Patnaik tweeted.

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also spoke to Dutee and Srabani. Other leaders including PCC president Prasad Harichandan, Odisha BJP president Basant Panda, Sports Minister Sudam Marndi congratulated Srabani.
