Lockdown restrictions to continue in Bhubaneswar

Schools, colleges to remain closed till August 31 in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday announced that schools, colleges, other educational institutions and coaching centres will remain closed till August 31.

However, the educational institutions will be allowed to remain open to conduct examinations and evaluations, informed chief secretary Asit Tripathy.

Tripathy further said theaters, gyms, swimming pools, entertainment parks, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and other similar places will emain closed till the end of July.

The government has decided to clamp the night curfew across the state from 9 PM to 5 AM.

It, however, said that weekend shutdown on Saturdays and Sundays will continue in 10 districts which have been identified as zone-1 districts.  The districts with more than 50 active cases have been identified as zone 1 districts.

These districts include Ganjam, Gajapati, Cuttack, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Jharsuguda.
