Jharsuguda, Odisha; 25th May 2022: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, has sponsored sporting gear for teams participating in the ongoing ‘Mo School’ Hockey Tournament at Jharsuguda, Odisha. Mo School Abhiyaan is an initiative by the Government of Odisha under its School & Mass Education Department, which aims to address the needs of school-going children and enable & support schools with infrastructure, technology, etc. so they can provide a wholesome and nurturing environment to children during their formative years.
Currently, Vedanta Aluminium supports four schools in Jharsuguda district as a partner in the Mo School Abhiyaan. The company has contributed a sum of INR 80 lakhs (INR 20 lakhs for each school) towards building required infrastructure like smart classrooms, e-libraries, computer labs, playgrounds, gardens, etc. in these schools. In its endeavour to support the Mo School Hockey Tournament, Vedanta Aluminium has partnered the District Hockey Association, District Administration and District Education Department of Jharsuguda.
