Police ASI caught while accepting bribe in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha vigilance on Wednesday arrested Nabin Kumar Satapathy, ASI of Kiakata Police station in Angul district while demanding and receiving bribe from a complainant. 

Acting on a tip-off, vigilance conducted a raid and caught Satpathy while accepting bribe of Rs 8,000 from a complainant to help his cousins in a case registered earlier in Kiakata Police station. 

Satpathy had demanded Rs.10, 000 from the complainant and had collected first installment Rs. 2000 few days back.

He was nabbed today by the team of Odisha Vigilance while taking the balance bribe amount.

The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Satapathy and seized. 

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Satapathy from DA angle.
