High alert sounded in Bhubaneswar, photo of one suspected terrorist released


BHUBANESWAR: Apprehending that the suspected terrorists may run away from the state capital of Odisha, the police on Tuesday issued a high alert in Bhubaneswar while it released photographs of one of the suspects and the vehicle used by them.

Notably, four suspected terrorists who were in a hotel near railway station here managed to give the police a slip and escaped before the hotel was raided.High alert sounded in Bhubaneswar, photo of one suspected terrorist released

Issuing high alert in the city, Odisha DGP KB Singh also discussed with the central investigating agencies and Superintendent of Police (SPs) of all districts to trace out the suspected terrorists.

Check gates have been put up at different places in Bhubaneswar and police are checking the vehicles and persons in doubt.

Police Commissioner RP Sharma said suspected terrorists’ vehicle had fake registration – DL4C 9645.

They had used a fake registration number to come to Bhubaneswar. A high alert has been sounded in the city. All the police station have been alerted, added Sharma.

Besides, the district vigilance department has been alerted, and the crime branch has initiated the search operation by tightening the security check-up.photo of one suspected terrorist released

Sources said all roads linking Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri have been blocked to ensure security and all vehicles, especially the ones from out of state are being thoroughly checked, said a senior police official.

The suspected terrorists used a Ford Icon car bearing Delhi number which was found to be fake after an investigation by the Crime Branch.
