Over 6 lakh students to appear HSC exam beginning Feb 22


BHUBANESWAR: A total of 6, 01, 348 students will appear in the annual high school certificate (HSC) examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha from Monday.

The School and Mass Education department of Odisha government with the help of police have made elaborate security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examinations in 2882 centres across the state.

BSE director Ratnakar Rout said all preparations are over for the matriculation examinations.

“All district collectors and superintendent of police (SPs) have been instructed to make necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of examination,” said Rout.

Two control rooms have been opened at the directorate of secondary education at Bhubaneswar and BSE office at Cuttack for any emergency, he added.

While question papers have been dispatched to 305 nodal centres, the board has formed 54 five-tier flying squads in district-level and 50 squads in the board level to check malpractice during the examinations.

Around 35,000 teachers have been engaged in examination duty, said BSE president DP Nanda.
The HSC examinations will continue till March 4, and the evaluations will be done from March 11 to 22 at 67 centres.
