Wrangling In BJD Comes Out

BHUBANESWAR: The brewing intra-party wrangling within BJD’s Jagatsinghpur unit came to fore on Sunday as several party leaders met BJD president Naveen Patnaik to register their protest against Tirtol MLA Rajashree Mallick for ignoring them in different activities.

They alleged that Mallick is ignoring the party workers at the grassroots level while she has links with Dhalasamant brothers.Wrangling In BJD Comes Out

They also said the activities of Tirtol MLA are weakening the party in the constituency as well as in the district.

The move of eight Zilla Parishad (ZP) members and three block chairpersons from Jagatsinghpur district ensued a war of words among senior party leaders in the district with excise minister Damodar Rout and Mallick triggering their guns at BJD district president Bishnu Das.

Mallick said some people are trying to defame her after they lost the confidence of people.

Rout blamed Bishnu Das for creating disturbance in the constituency to consolidate his position after defeat in Jagatsinghpur assembly constituency.

However, BJD district president Bishnu Charan Das rejected the allegations.
