Odisha Continues To Boil Under Heat Wave


BHUBANESWAR: The sizzling heat wave condition continued to prevail in most parts of Odisha as 19 towns on Tuesday recorded over 40 degree Celsius while the state government received 24 death cases due to sunstroke.

Titlagarh town recorded highest temperature of 44.5 degree Celsius followed by Sonepur 44.1 and Sundergarh 44 degrees. Bhubaneswar, which had recorded 45.8 degree Celsius on Monday breaking the record in the month of April, recorded 42.9 degree Celsius, said a bulletin of Bhubaneswar met centre.

The grievance cells of the chief minister, district collectors and district superintendents of police will remain closed from April 18 following the heat wave.
