BJP Attacks Odisha Govt Over Water Scarcity

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha BJP president Basanta Panda on Friday attacked the state government for failing to provide drinking water to the people reeling under scorching summer.

A delegation of BJP leaders led by Panda also met Governor SC Jamir on Friday and apprised him about the situation besides seeking to direct the government to take prompt steps to resolve the water scarcity issue. They also submitted a memorandum to the Governor.

“The people of the state are not getting drinking water despite the tall claim of the government that it has made all arrangements to supply drinking water to people in rural areas,” said Panda.

He said that during the ‘Jana Kalyan Yatra’ in several districts, the party leaders found that the government has failed to supply drinking water although crores of rupees have been spent in the rural areas.

So far, BJP has covered eight organisational districts under its Jana Kalyan Yatra.
