Fake note printing unit busted in Bhubaneswar


Bhubaneswar: Odisha police on Thursday busted a fake currency printing unit in the capital city.

Baripada Town police raided a house in Salia Sahi where the illegal unit was operating.

The cops seized fake currency papers, color printer and cartridge from the spot. During house search, the machines and other things were seized from the slum.

This comes after the arrest of a college student from Baripada on March 9 while he was transacting a fake Rs 500 note at a shop in Sunagadia area. The locals apprehended him on suspicion and handed him over to police.

As many as 32 counterfeit notes of Rs 500 denomination were seized from the possession of the 20-year-old boy. Interestingly, all the currencies bore identical series and serial number.
