Heavy discounts offered on motor bikes post Supreme Court BS-III ban


Bhubaneswar: After the Supreme Court banned sale and registration of BS-III models from April 1, two-wheeler majors Hero MotoCorp, Honda, Bajaj Auto, TVS and Suzuki Motorcycle are offering discounts of up to Rs 22,000 to liquidate their stocks.

The offer will be valid till March 31.

The companies are offering heavy discounts on bikes across dealerships to clear out motorcycles which do not meet Bharat Stage IV (BS IV) emission regulations which come into effect from April 1.

Hero MotoCorp is offering Rs 5000 discount on HF and Splendor+, all other bikes Rs 7,500, Scooters Rs 12,000. Besides, dealers are offering free insurance to the customers.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is offering up to Rs 22,000 discount for several two wheelers.

According to India Today, Honda is offering cash back offer of Rs 22,000 on its BS-III scooters and motorcycles models Activa 3G (priced Rs 50,290), Dream Yuga (Rs 51,741), CB Shine (Rs 55,799 to Rs 61,283) and CD 110DX (Rs 47,202 to Rs 47,494.

Suzuki Motorcycle India also announced offers on its Let’s scooter and Gixxer motorcycle. TVS Motors is also offering up to Rs 12,000 on its bikes and scooters.

Bajaj Auto also offered discounts and free insurance on its different models, starting from the entry level Platina to Pulsar RS200 in the range of Rs 3,000 to Rs 12,000 along with free insurance, said the report.
