Utkala Dibasa celebrated across Odisha


Bhubaneswar: People across the state on Saturday celebrated Utkala Dibasa marking the formation of Odisha state on linguistic basis in 1936.

The foundation day of Odisha is celebrated across the state on April 1 every year after it wаѕ carved out of the combined Bengal-Bihar-Orissa province in 1936.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkala Dibasa.

Modi took to Twitter and described Odisha as a land of rich culture and glorious history.

“The people of Odisha are hardworking and have showcased their efficiency in various fields. I pray for the bright future and progress of Odisha,” he said.

Vice President M. Hamid Ansari greeted the people of Odisha on the auspicious occasion of Odisha Day.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also wished the people of the state on the Odisha day.

“Our focus is on making Odisha a leading state in the country,” twitted the Chief Minister.
