BJD ready to face elections anytime: Naveen


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday said his party is always ready to face elections.

He claimed that the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assembly elections of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh will have no impact on the state.

“I see no impact in Odisha of all these,” Patnaik told media persons.

He also said the party would no see any anti-incumbency as several welfare programmes are being carried out in the state.

“I don’t feel the BJD will face an anti-incumbency because of our development programmes and welfare schemes which are doing well in our state,” said the Chief Minister.

Notably, BJD has been in power since last 17 years under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik in Odisha.

The Chief Minister also ruled out any possible impact on imminent by-election for Bijepur assembly constituency in Bargarh district.
