Odisha govt effects major IAS reshuffle; changes 8 district collectors


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday effected a major IAS reshuffle at the district and directorate levels. The government shifted district collectors of eight districts while bringing several changes at director level.

District Collectors of Balasore, Dhenkanal, Balangir, Koraput, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Malkangiri and Nawarangpur have been shifted and new incumbents have been posted.

Department of General Administration (DoGA) brought out a notification in this regard, said official sources.

2001 Batch IAS Shalini Pandit, who was earlier, posted as State Project Director OPEPA will continue as Managing Director National Health Mission (NHM). Ms.Pandit is doing exceedingly well and her coordination with Secretary Health & Family Welfare Pramod Kumar Meherda is excellent.

As the Team Health is working in tandem, so the State Government allowed her to continue in NHM, which is a crucial assignment for Health & Family Welfare Sector.

2002 Batch IAS Archana Patnaik, who is managing Director Odisha State Medical Corporation has been assigned additional charge of CMGI. 2004 Batch IAS Pravat Kumar Lenka has been appointed as new Additional Secretary Public Enterprises.

2008 Batch IAS Bhupendra Singh Poonia has been appointed as State Project Director OPEPA. Mr.Poonia will also handle charges of State Project Director Rashtriya Madhyamik Sikhaya Yojana and Director Adarsh Vidyala Sangathan.

2009 Batch IAS N Thirumala Naik is appointed as District Collector Bolangir. 2010 Batch IAS Rashmita Panda is the new CEO Rourkela Smart City. Ms.Panda will also handle the additional charge of Commissioner Rourkela Municipal Corporation and Vice Chairperson Rourkela Development Authority.

2010 Batch IAS Sudhanshu Mohan Samal is appointed as new Director Horticulture.

2011 Batch IAS Ashish Thakre is new District Collector Keonjhar.  Mr.Thakre was Collector Bolangir and given the second district as he was doing well and earned appreciation while running one of the most politically sensitive and critical districts.

2011 Batch IAS K Sudarshan Chakravarthy is appointed new District Collector of Koraput. Mr.Chakravarthy is a hardworking and sincere officer, whose performance has been appreciated by many senior colleagues in State Bureaucracy.

2012 Batch IAS Anupam Saha is appointed as new District Collector of Gajapati. Mr.Saha, who was Collector Koraput is given another tribal and Naxal affected district, which needs more attention and field visits.

2012 Batch IAS Nikhil Pavan Kalyan is posted as Collector Dhenkanal and expected to handle the politically sensitive district with a lot of care.

2012 Batch IAS Manish Agarwal is appointed as District Collector Malkangiri, the Worst Maoist Affected District. Mr.Agarwal’s stint in the Department of Home will come as a good experience and exposure to Maoist menace.

Senior OAS Officer, Ramesh Chandra Rout is posted as District Collector Balasore. Mr.Rout is much mature and suave to handle a sensitive district like Balasore.

Senior OAS, Ajit Kumar Mishra is new Collector Nawarangpur. Dr.Mishra has the capability to scale up activities in the district both on the development and social sector. Senior OAS Akshaya Kumar Parida is posted as Special Secretary of Forest and Environment. Senior OAS Pramod Kumar Das has been posted as Additional Secretary Planning & Convergence.
