3 officials arrested by Vigilance in rural road corruption case in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance department of Odisha government on Saturday arrested three officials for their alleged involvement in Rs 42 lakh corruption in rural road construction project in Sundargarh district.

The Vigilance sleuths arrested the Block Development Officer Purnachandra Bhoi, assistant engineer and additional executive engineer in connection with Rs 42 lakh corruption in rural road construction project at Lathikata block.

They have been arrested after conducting a raid on their offices.

The trio had extended the favour to a particular construction agency, assigned them to work in a rural road construction project without inviting a tender in 2017, said a Vigilance official.
