Bhubaneswar: A case has been registered against Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Odisha BJP president Basant Panda for allegedly threatening to kill a party worker Pinak Mohanty.

Pinak Mohanty, who claims to be Niali assembly segment’s Zone 33 Barang block BJP vice-president, has lodged an FIR against Dharmendra Pradhan, Basant Panda and an unknown threat caller.

Pinak has filed the FIR with Sadar Police Station in Cuttack district on February 5 and a case has been registered.

Pinak was allegedly given life threat as he wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against Dharmendra Pradhan and Basant Panda.

“Dharmendra Pradhan and Basant Panda are the two main leaders of Odisha unit BJP. The people of Odisha expect a lot from them. Odisha has scores of problems. The interests of the people of Odisha are not being laid stress as ought to be. No appropriate and timely actions are being taken by both of them. Hence, I apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the letter in this regard. I have also apprised Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah,” said Pinak.

“In case of any harm and damage meted out on me as well as my family members, these three (unknown caller, Basant Panda and Dharmendra Pradhan) will be solely responsible,” said Pinak in the FIR.

Notably, Pinak along with his friend had last year barged into Basant Panda’s official chamber here at the State BJP headquarters and terrorized Panda at gunpoint.
