Odisha hikes remuneration of tutor, residents of govt medical colleges


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday hiked the monthly remuneration of tutor, senior/junior residents engaged in state-run medical colleges in the state.

Health Minister Pratap Jena said the hike in remuneration of doctors has been implemented following the approval of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Jena said contractual tutor completing post graduation will now get Rs 75,000 per month while the tutor, who has not completed post-graduation, will receive Rs 70,000 per month.

Senior and junior resident doctor will receive Rs 65,000 and Rs 55,000, respectively, he added.

Jena said the regular doctors who are working as tutor after completing PG will get 20,000 financial incentives while non-PG tutors and senior residents will receive Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.

The revised hike will be implemented from today.

Earlier on January 9, the state government had hiked the salary of contractual teachers of state-run medical colleges.

While the salary of Professors was hiked to Rs 1.25 lakh from Rs 90,000, the salary of Associate Professors was hiked to Rs 1 lakh from of Rs 75,000. An Associate Professor’s salary was increased to Rs 75,000 from Rs 60,000.
