IMD issues thunderstorm alert for four districts in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued thunderstorm alert for four districts in Odisha.

The regional met department issued the thunderstorm warning for Nayagarh, Angul, Cuttack and Khurda districts till 11 am.

It said hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 50 to 60 kmph may occur.

Temperature is likely to drop in different parts of Odisha from today, predicted the met department.

Notably, several parts of the state are experiencing intense heat wave forcing the people to stay indoors. Reports of sunstroke deaths have also been received in the state.
