Balangir: Union minister for petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday laid the foundation stone for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (BPCL) LPG bottling plant in Balangir.
Union minister for social justice and empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot was also present on the occasion.
The BPCL is setting up an LPG bottling plant at Barkhani in Balangir district to cater to the consumers of 14 districts in western Odisha.
The BPCL bottling plant will be set up with an investment of Rs 103 crore. It is expected that the plant will be commissioned by March 2020.
The plant will be spread over 23 acres and will have the capacity to produce 42 lakh cylinders per year.
This will be second LPG bottling plant of the company. BPCL is already having an LPG Bottling Plant at Khurda.
