Security to be beefed up ahead of PM’s visit to Cuttack


Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday said a comprehensive strategy has been chalked out for the security arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Cuttack on May 26.

Police Commissioner YB Khurania said adequate security arrangements would be ensured during the visit of the Prime Minister.

100 platoons of armed police will be deployed in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, he added.

Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting at the historic Baliyatra ground to Cuttack.

As per the schedule, Modi will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport at 3.30 pm on May 26 and proceed to Cuttack in a helicopter. After the public meeting, he will return to Bhubaneswar and leave for New Dehli at about 5.55 pm.
