BJD forms steering committee on Mahanadi, Polavaram issue


Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Monday formed a four-member steering committee to decide further course of action on Mahanadi and Polavaram issue.

Patnaik appointed Rajya Sabha MPs Prasanna Acharya and Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, BJD MLA Debi Prasad Mishra and former union minister Chandra Sekhar Sahu as the members of the committee, informed BJD state secretary Bijay Nayak.

Besides, the BJD president appointed transport minister Nrusingha Charan Sahu as party’s observer for Puri district.

BJD’s Rajya Sabha member Achyuta Samanta has been appointed as co-observer for Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj districts.
