Odisha govt issues helpline number for Odia people affected by Kerala flood


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday issued a helpline number for the people of the state, who are stranded in the devastating flood in Kerala.

It has opened a helpline with telephone number 1070 (toll-free) and 0674-2534177 at the office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) to coordinate help for the people in difficulty.

Any person of Odisha who is affected or his relative may contact the helpline for assistance, said SRC office.

Earlier, Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada Sethi urged Kerala government to make necessary arrangement for providing necessary support like food, drinking water and other necessities to the flood-affected people.

About 130 people from Odisha have taken shelter in a house at Aluva Munnar Road, Odapally, near Asha Munnar Post Office after being affected by the flood, said the SRC office.
