Prabhu assures direct flight between Bhubaneswar-Surat

Bhubaneswar: Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu on Friday said his ministry will advise all airlines to introduce a direct flight from Bhubaneswar to Surat in Gujarat for the benefit of Odisha people.

“We shall do everything possible that benefits our hardworking people of Odisha. We will advise all airlines to look this very important matter,” said Prabhu.

The Civil Aviation Minister was replying to a tweet from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wrote Prabhu to introduce a direct flight between Bhubaneswar and Surat.

He said while lakhs of Odia families have settled in Surat and are engaged in the textile sector there, presently there is no direct air connectivity between Bhubaneswar and Surat.
