Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital inaugurated in Odisha’s Balasore


Balasore: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated Balasore medical college, which was recently named as Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital.

Patnaik inaugurated the medical college after unveiling the statue of great Odia poet Fakir Mohan Senapati installed at the entrance of the institution.

Union Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Odisha Health Minister Pratap Jena, Higher Education and Industries Minister Ananta Das and Balasore MP Rabindra Kumar Jena were present on the occasion.

The admission for 100 MBBS seats in the medical college has already begun from 2018-19 academic session.

On August 31, the Chief Minister had inaugurated the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir.

Meanwhile, state BJP alleged that the union minister has been disrespected by the state government.

BLP legislative party leader in state Assembly KV Singh Deo said no adequate security measures had been provided to the Minister while Y category was supposed to be provided by the government.

Besides, Choubey’s name was not mentioned at inauguration venue for Balasore medical college, said Singhdeo.
