Naveen attacks BJP over non-fulfilment of promises

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday described the BJP government at Centre as an empty vessel that makes the loudest noise.

He said BJP in its poll manifesto had promised to accord special category state status for Odisha but people of the state are still waiting for the fulfilment of the promise.

“Empty vessels make the most noise. In its poll manifesto, the BJP had promised to give Special Category State status to Odisha but nothing has been done in this regard till yet. People of the state are still waiting for the fulfilment of the same,” said Patnaik after flagging off BJD’s Jana Sampark Padayatra at Jharana Basti here.

He claimed that his government has fulfilled all its promises.

The Chief Minister said the state government was forced to bring its own food security scheme as many households have been left out of the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

“The people of Odisha know who fulfils promises and who does not,” he added.
