Cyclone Titli: Odisha CM enhances ex-gratia to Rs 10 lakh


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday enhanced ex-gratia from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for the families of those who died in cyclonic storm Titili and subsequent floods.

The Chief Minister on Wednesday visited cyclone hit Gajapati and Ganjam districts.

He also announced that 76 families of Baraghara village will be shifted from hilltop to the foothills.

Notably, around 15 people died in Baraghara village of Gajapati district due to landslide during the cyclone Titli on October 11.

76 families of the village will be provided with pucca houses under the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana.

The Chief Minister distributed ‘patta’ to beneficiaries.

He also said that the government will take care of children who have lost their parents in Cyclone Titli-related incidents.
