Cyclone Titli: Odisha govt to provide financial aid for livestock loss, house building


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday announced financial assistance for the families of cyclone ‘Titli’ affected victims who have suffered livestock loss and house damage.

“Financial assistance for loss of livestock will be provided at the rate of Rs 30,000 for loss of a cow and Rs 25,000 for the loss of an ox. One family can get assistance for maximum of three such animals,” informed Joint Relief Commissioner Pravat Ranjan Mohapatra on Sunday.

In case of death of small animals like goat and sheep, financial assistance of Rs 3000 per head for maximum 30 animals will be given to a family, he added.

He said a sum of Rs 1,01,900 for families in hilly areas and Rs 95,100 in plain areas will be provided for house repairing work.

For partially damaged houses, a sum of Rs 5200 for pucca houses, Rs 3200 for kutcha and Rs 4100 for huts will be provided.

Similarly, the cyclone-affected families will get Rs 2000 for utensils and Rs 1800 for clothes.
