Ticket outlets open for Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018

Bhubaneswar: With the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 set to commence from November 28, Hockey India on Sunday announced that the physical sale of tickets at the box office at Kalinga Stadium and at various outlets in Bhubaneswar for the tournament will commence from Monday onwards.

With less than a month to go for the prestigious tournament, organizers have decided to open the sale of tickets at various outlets, making it easier for the local public to book their spots to witness world-class hockey players vie to win the biggest hockey competition, which is to be held from 28th November to 16th December.

The general tickets for all matches of the quadrennial competition will be available around the city of Bhubaneswar and at the Box Office situated at Gate No. 9 of the Kalinga Stadium.

The physical sale of tickets at the Box Office at Gate No. 9 and all the various outlets will only be available from 10.00hrs – 17.00hrs IST everyday.

The opening match of the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 will see World No. 3 Belgium start their campaign against World No. 11 Canada.

The host nation India will also be in action on the opening day as they face World No. 15 South Africa in the second match. World No. 5 Indian team is scheduled to play two more matches in Pool C, which will be against Belgium on 2nd December 2018 and Canada on 8th December 2018.

General tickets for the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 are reasonably priced at Rs 200 (East Stand), Rs 100 (North Stand) and Rs 100 (South Stand) for the Pool and Crossover matches while tickets for the Knockout, Semi-Finals and Final matches are priced at Rs 250 (East Stand), Rs 150 (North Stand and Rs 150 (South Stand).

Speaking on the commencement of sales of tickets at various outlets in the host city, Rajinder Singh, Secretary General, Hockey India said, “Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 is the biggest hockey competition of the season, and with sixteen teams taking part in the tournament, we are pleased to announce that the general tickets will now also be available at the Box Office situated at the Kalinga Stadium along with various other outlets in the host city of Bhubaneswar and at two outlets in Cuttack.

The sale of tickets at various outlets will give our hockey fans the chance to secure their spot to experience world-class matches amidst the state-of-art facilities at the Kalinga Stadium and I would like to urge everyone to come in huge numbers to watch and support your favourite international hockey heroes.”
