Odisha receives Rs 1412 crore investment intents in agri-marketing sector


Bhubaneswar: The state government received investment intents of Rs 1412 crore in the agri-marketing sector at the Make in Odisha Conclave, said cooperation minister Surya Narayan Patro on Wednesday.

“We have received investment intents worth Rs 300 crore from Reliance Retail while ITC Ltd promised to invest Rs 520 crore in the agri-marketing sector,” said Patro.

He said about Rs 300 crore will be invested to strengthing and upgradation of warehousing facilities with the latest technology whereas Rs112 crore will be invested through contract farming.

“The government is going to bring new legislation on contract farming to facilitate small traders to buy agro products from our farmers,” the minister said.
