Odisha govt announces interest-free loan to women SHGs


Puri: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced to provide intrest-free loan up to Rs 3 lakh to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the state.

The decission would benefit around 70 lakh women associated with six lakh groups under Mission Shakti programme.

“Now you will get zero per cent interest on loan facility for your SHG,” announced the CM at a state-level convention of Mission Shakti groups at Talabania Sports Complex here.

He also announced that cheque of Rs 15,000 will be given to three lakh new women SHGs as seed money.

Besides, Rs 25,000 financial assistance fund would be provided to every Block Level Mahasangh and Rs 3,000 financial assistance to every SHG to buy smartphones.
