Ama Gaon Ama Bikash covers all blocks in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government’s flagship programme ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’, which was launched on March 5 last year, covered all the Gram Panchayats (GPs) in all 314 blocks of the state on Tuesday.

The scheme was launched to bring about a transformation in the development of the rural areas.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik sanctioned Rs 1554.41 crores for 62,857 projects in 6,798 GPs of 314 blocks in Odisha.

 “I’m extremely happy for the participation of the people of Odisha in the ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ yojana. The scheme is an example of successful implementation of developmental works through transparency, interaction with people and use of technology,” said the Chief Minister.

“I feel very happy to interact with the people through this programme and also elated to work for the people of rural Odisha,” Patnaik further said.

He said it is the perfect example of the three Ts-Technology, Transparency and Teamwork.

The Chief Minister on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 39.53 crore for 1715 projects in eight blocks of six districts under the ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ programme.
