Jagannath Patnaik quits Congress Coordination Committee

Bhubaneswar: A day before the announcement of results, senior Congress leader and former minister Jagannath Patnaik on Wednesday resigned as the Convenor of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Coordination Committee.

He also resigned from the membership of Odisha Election Committee.

Patnaik alleged loopholes in the party’s election preparation.

“I have sent my resignation to the OPCC president with a request to accept it immediately,” he said.

On April 19, 2018, he was appointed Patnaik as the Convenor of OPCC Coordination Committee.

In September last year, AICC President Rahul Gandhi had appointed Patnaik as the member of OPCC Executive Committee.
