BJD to support NDA candidate for Lok Sabha Speaker post

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will extend support to BJP-led NDA candidate for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker, informed Pinaki Misra, BJD’s parliamentary party leader on Tuesday.

A decision in this regard was taken at the meeting of the parliamentary party held in New Delhi on Tuesday.

“Since we have constructive cooperation with the Centre, we will support ruling-NDA’s proposal of Om Birla’s nomination for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker,” informed Mishra.

Om Birla, who won from Kota-Bundi parliamentary seat in Rajasthan on BJP ticket, will be the NDA’s nominee for Lok Sabha Speaker’s post.
