67% polling in Patkura Assembly poll in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: Over 67 per cent polling was recorded till 5 PM in Patkura assembly constituency, informed Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar on Saturday.

The CEO said that polling is still underway at the 309 booths.

A total of 2.44 lakh including 1.27 lakh male and 1.17 lakh female are eligible to vote in the election.

The CEO informed that there has been peaceful and disciplined polling across the constituency.

While four companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) were deployed at 71 critical or sensitive booths, over 55 platoons of State Armed Police Forces were deployed at other polling stations.

The election to the Patkura Assembly was postponed twice due to death of BJD candidate Bed Prakash Agarwalla and cyclone Fani.

The poll to the seat was earlier scheduled to be held in the fourth phase of recently concluded general polls on April 29.
