Sikh community protests demolition of Mangu Mutt in Puri

Bhubaneswar: Members of Sikh community took out a rally in Bhubaneswar on Sunday protesting Odisha government’s decision to demolish Mangu Mutt for the beautification of Jagannath Temple in Puri.

The Sikh community including two Punjab MLAs Simarjit Singh and Balwant Singh took out a rally from Kharavela Nagar Gurudwara in Bhubaneswar to Master Canteen square.

“It is unfortunate that we have not been able to meet Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. It is not justified to demolish religious structures in Puri. We will be forced to stage agitation here if our demands are not met,” said Lok Insaf Party MLA Simarjit Singh.
