New Delhi: Under the 7th Pay Commission, the Central government employees may get a big salary hike post-budget 2020.
The annual union budget 2020-21 will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament on 1st February 2020.
As per the media reports, the NDA government led by Narendra Modi is likely to announce Dearness Allowance (DA) for the central government employees.
It would benefit to around 1.1 crore central government employees and pensioners.
The central government may announce 4 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees. It will increase the DA from the existing 17 per cent to 21 per cent.

As per the 7th Pay Commission latest news, the salaries of the central government employees would increase in the range of Rs 720 to Rs 10,000.
The hike in salaries is dependent on the pay drawn at various levels.
Notably, the central government announces DA on the basis of inflation in the previous half of the year.
In January 2019, the government had raised the DA for government employees by 3%.
After the
Union Budget presented on 5 July 2019, the central government employees are
waiting for an update from the 7th Pay Commission related to an increase in
their DA.
