IMD predicts rainfall in Odisha till March 14


Bhubaneswar: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that several districts of Odisha are likely to experience rainfall till March 14.

It said light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Bolangir, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Boudh, Khurda.

The IMD also said that one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha would also experience rainfall.

Hailstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Dhenkanal and Angul, said the Bhubaneswar met centre.

Thunderstorm with lighting accompanied with gusty surface winds, speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kandhamal and Sambalpur.

The IMD said heavy rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack and Kendrapara on March 12.

On March 13, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Balasore.

The IMD also predicted rainfall at one or two places over the rest districts of north Odisha and districts of Kandhamal, Boudh, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Bolangir and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

On March 14, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north interior Odisha and districts of Gajapati Ganjam, Koraput, Kandhamal and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
