Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced a relief package of Rs 2200 crore for the welfare of the poor to deal with the COVID19-related impact.
The state government will provide Rs 1000 to 94 lakh families coming under food security schemes. An amount of Rs 940 crore will be spent in this regard, the CM said.
The government has already announced to provide advance three-month ration to the beneficiaries.
Similarly, 48 lakh beneficiaries of social security schemes in the state will receive allowance of four months in advance. An amount of Rs 932 crore will be spent for the purpose, said Patnaik.
A total of
22 lakh construction workers will receive Rs 1500 each, for which Rs 330 crore
will be spent.
