OMSA seeks revocation of doctor’s suspension

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) on Saturday appealed the Odisha government to revoke the suspension of the doctor, who had treated the third COVID-19 positive case.

In a letter to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the OMSA said Dr. Lalit Behera, doctor of Odisha State Assembly zonal dispensary, was suspended without any investigation and genuine case.

“Such type of action by the Government has broken down moral courage of Doctors at this crucial junction, who are front line warrior to fight CORONA,” said the letter.

The government has placed under suspension Dr. Lalit Behera for violating COVID-19 rules. It was found out that he did not report to authorities when the third COVID-19 case from Odisha visited him for consultation.
