Bhubaneswar: A 29 years old male from Bhadrak district with travel history to Dubai has been confirmed as COVID-19 positive in Odisha, said the Health Department on Tuesday.
This is the fourth coronavirus positive case in Odisha.
“Fourth COVID19 positive case in Odisha; 29 years old male of Bhadrak district with travel history to Dubai,” said the Odisha Health department in a tweet.
Health Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal spoke to Bhadrak district Collector and asked him to shift the patient to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The secretary also asked to isolate the close contacts and get them tested and trace all contacts as soon as possible.
MD NHM is monitoring the follow-up action.
“The fourth COVID patient did not have any symptoms. Hence people with travel history but no symptoms should not be complacent. They must follow home quarantine for two weeks and then self monitor their health condition for another two weeks,” tweeted the department.
A total of 610 persons have been tested so far while four have been confirmed positive in the state.
