COVID-19: 15 from Odisha returning from Hazrat Nizamuddin test negative


Bhubaneswar: In a sigh of relief, test reports of 15 persons from Odisha who had attended a religious function in Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi, has come negative for Covid-19.

Nizamuddin area in Delhi has emerged as the biggest Covid-19 hotspot in the country after six people who attended the religious congregation died of the deadly virus and many others who were present there tested positive.

“Recently 20 people had returned to Odisha from Hazrat Nizamuddin whose samples were sent for testing of COVID-19. Out of the 20 samples, 15 reports so far received and all are Corona negative,” said a statement.

Of these 15 people, 12 are from Rourkela, each one from Kendrapara, Cuttack and Ganjam district.

“As per latest reports, 22 persons including 7 foreigners linked to Tabligh Jamaat Nizamuddin have been traced in the state. All are in govt quarantine.  Samples collected for all. Results of some samples are awaited,” tweeted the Health department.
