Wear mask, else pay fine: Odisha govt


Bhubaneswar: In an effort to prevent the transmission of coronavirus, the Odisha government has decided to impose fine on people for not wearing mask while coming out of their houses.  

Stepping out of home without a mask is now an offence in the state.

The Health Department has framed certain regulations, which will come into effect on Thursday.

The government imposed Rs 200 for not wearing masks for the first, second and third offence. From fourth offence, the penalty will go up to Rs 500 for each violation, said chief secretary Asit Tripathy.
