Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Sundargarh district has reported two COVID-19 positive cases.
Out of the four positive cases that were detected on Saturday, two are from Bisra area of Sundargarh district, informed local administration today.
Bisra area has been sealed following the development.
“We have declared Bisra Sadar panchayat area as containment zone after two COVID-19 positive cases were detected from the region. We will start contact tracing and house to house survey,” informed district collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan.
Earlier, the Information and Public Relations Department revealed the details of the four people who tested positive.
In a tweet, the department informed that while two of them are from Sundergarh, one each hail from Bhubaneswar and Kendrapada.
Kendrapada Collector Samarth Verma informed that the patient has travel history from outside of Odisha and was in quarantine as mandated by the government.
“He has been shifted to Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack. His close contacts have been put in quarantine and village sealed,” said Verma.
