24 COVID-19 hospitals operational in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: As many as 24 exclusive COVID-19 hospitals have become operational in 21 districts of Odisha so far, informed Subroto Bagchi, said Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra on Thursday.

These hospitals have 3951 beds and 293 ICU beds.

The government has proposed to set up 35 COVID-19 hospitals in the state.

An exclusive COVID-19 Hospital is being established in Kalahandi District. It will be fully operational at Government Engineering College, Bhawanipatna with a capacity of 194 beds and 6 ICU beds in 7 days.

Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and Secretary to the Chief Minister V.K. Pandian visited Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts today and inspected COVID Hospitals there.

They made detail review of COVID-19 preparedness in these districts.
