Kalinga Hospital comes up with telemedicine services


Bhubaneswar: In order to assist patients to reach out to their doctors with ease during the lockdown period, doctors at Bhubaneswar-based BR Life Kalinga Hospital have now come up with their new service of giving medical consultations over the phone.

The hospital has now come up with the facility of telemedicine where the patients who are keen to inquire about their health ailments or need assistance in their disease management can call the hospital, the hospital authorities announced on Wednesday.

According to the officials of the hospital, any person who is seeking medical consultations during the lockdown can now reach out the qualified doctors of the hospital.

The citizens can now use the toll free numbers of the hospital to get an expert advice.

“Many patients are now finding it tough to reach out to their doctors. This include patients who are sick at this time, while there are also many who need regular follow ups for their disease management like patients living with cardiac diseases, urinary problems, hypertension and diabetic patients,” said Dr Manjinder Bhatti, Medical Superintendent, BR Life Kalinga Hospital.

He also added that several of these patients require regular medical attention and should not miss doctors to keep themselves healthy.

“With the intention to ensure uninterrupted health care of the patients from the state we at BR Life Kalinga Hospital have come up with the telemedicine service to facilitate the same,” he said.

Citizens from throughout the state can now call on the numbers-18005724000. The patients are now also been provided with the facility to get a video consultation with the doctors through the toll free number and the additional number of 7205317607.

As soon as the patient calls on the numbers, the staff of the hospital will fix an appointment with the doctors and connect them to the doctors of their need accordingly.

This comes at a time when many patients are finding it tough to reach out to doctors for consultation from minor to major illness.

As per the arrangement as decided by the hospital administration the patients can now use the facilities from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.

The departments which will be available for consultations include-Cardiology, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Nephrology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Urology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology.
