Seven from Bhadrak, Balasore tested COVID-19 positive


Bhubaneswar: Number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha has increased to 68 as seven more persons tested positive for the coronavirus, Health and Family Welfare Department said on Monday.

Out of the seven persons, five are from Bhadrak and two from Balasore.

“7 New Positive Cases of #Covid19 found in #Odisha. 5 new Positive Cases From Bhadrak. 2 new Positive Cases From Balasore. Total no of cases detected: 68. Contact tracing and follow up action is being done,” tweeted the Information and Public Relations Department.

Balasore district has now 3 active COVID cases. Bhadrak district has 6 active and 2 recovered cases. Total 11 districts in Odisha have COVID-19 positive cases. The highest cases are from the Khurda district, especially from Bhubaneswar. Bhadrak district is the 2nd highest.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Odisha stood at 43 while 24 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals. One person died of the disease.
