Odisha COVID-19 positive cases rise to 90


Bhubaneswar: The total number of coronavirus cases in Odisha increased to 90 with another person from Bhadrak district testing positive on Friday morning.

A 40-year-old man having travel history to West Bengal has tested positive, said the Health Department.

The contact tracing and other follow-up action is being undertaken, said the department.

With the fresh case, the number of COVID-19 patients in Bhadrak increased to 12.

Bhadrak District Collector Gyan Das said new containment zones have been notified in Arandua Gram Panchayat and Brahmaniagon Gram Panchayat.

The Odisha government has implemented a 60-hour total shutdown in the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Balasore. The shutdown began at 10 pm Thursday night and will continue till Sunday morning.
