Bhubaneswar: Justice Mohammad Rafiq on Monday took oath as the new Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
Justice Rafiq was administered the oath of office by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal at the Lok Seva Bhawan here.
Justice Mohammad Rafiq became the 31st Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
Following the recommendation of Supreme Court Collegium, President Ram Nath Kovind had ordered transfer of Justice Mohammad Rafiq, who was earlier serving as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
Justice Rafiq was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court on November 13, 2019.
In 1984, he enrolled as an Advocate at the Bar Council of Rajasthan after obtaining his degree in law from the Rajasthan University.
