Baban Singh assumes charge as MCL Director

Sambalpur: Baban Singh has assumed charge as 4th fulltime Director of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL).

Singh has assumed charge as MCL Director for Technical/Projects & Planning.

A mining graduate from Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad (1985), Singh has a vast experience of over 35 years in coal mining sector.

He has served in several underground and opencast projects in the sister subsidiaries Central Coalfields Limited (CCL)-Jharkhand and South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL)-Chhatisgarh.

Singh was General Manager, Chirimiri Area of SECL before joining MCL as Director (Technical) after approval by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Government of India. 

Having an MBA degree in Human Resource, Singh has visited different European countries like Italy, France, Venice, Amsterdam, Florence, and Rome. He had also represented the Indian Mining Congress held in China.
