Bhubaneswar: A special flight carrying Odisha migrants from Dubai arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Thursday evening.
The special flight carried a total of 151 stranded people and reached Bhubaneswar airport at around 9.05 pm.
After their arrival, the passengers were taken for health screening at the airport.
“First international flight from Dubai has arrived at Bhubaneswar airport during lockdown. All passengers are being screened at receiving centres.Transportation arrangements has been made for them,” tweeted the BMC.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corportation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said passengers having suspected symptoms of COVID-19 will be kept separately.
Other passengers will be asked to keep themselves in home quarantine. The administration will put up quarantine stickers in front of their houses for the information of neighbours, he said.
About 220 rooms have been identified for those who want to stay in paid quarantine.
The BMC Commissioner said transportation facilities have been arranged for the passengers.
